Archaeplastida
The Archaeplastida are one of the six groups of eukaryotes, ie organisms with cell nuclei, which, inter alia, in the scheme of eukaryotes from Adl 2005 's. They include the green algae, red algae and plants.
Features
The Archaeplastida have photosynthetic plastids with chlorophyll a as the main coloring. The plastids originate from a primary endosymbiosis with a cyanobacterium. The plastids may have gone secondarily lost in some groups or reduced. They usually have a cell wall made of cellulose. The cristae of mitochondria are flat. As memory serves carbohydrate starch.
System
Et al Adl divide the Archaeplastida into three groups with no classic ranks:
- Glaucophyta
- Red algae ( Rhodophyta )
- Chloroplastida ( green algae in the broadest sense ) Chlorophyta Ulvophyceae
- Trebouxiophyceae
- Chlorophyceae
- Streptophytina Chara ( Charales )
- Plants (Plantae )
