Archduchess Elisabeth Amalie of Austria

Elisabeth Amalie Eugenia Maria Theresa Karoline Luise Josepha (* July 7, 1878 in Reichenau an der Rax, † March 13, 1960 in Liechtenstein ) was an Archduchess of Austria.

Life

Elisabeth Amalie was a daughter of Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria and Maria Theresa of Portugal.

She married Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, son of Alfred of Liechtenstein and Henriette of Liechtenstein, on 20 April 1903 in Vienna. With her husband she had eight children, including the later princes of Liechtenstein.

She had a car collection 39 vehicles and had it rebuilt the stables in their Hungarian Castle White Castle in garages. She was probably the most enthusiastic Autofanatikerin among all noble ladies in Europe, but went their hobby rather quiet and concealed by, so most of their contemporaries were unaware of their large car collection.

Elisabeth Amalie died on 13 March 1960 at the age of 81 years in Liechtenstein. She was a member of the House of Habsburg- Lorraine.
