Archenkanzel

View from the Archenkanzel above the King Lake

The Archenkanzel is a 1346m high altitude vantage point in the northeastern part of the watzmann massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps. From decorated with wooden benches Nature platform about two-thirds of the Kingdom lake are in good visibility to see, which is 743 feet below.

Routes

There are several numbered hiking to the lookout point. So you can ascend Schoenau am Koenigssee towards greenstone. This right are letting you follow the Klingerweg (Route 443 by the way numbering of the National Park Service, who eventually as Rinnkendlsteig way to St Bartholomew leads down ) on the Klingeralm by over Kühroint (1415 m) to the Archenkanzel.

The only route by which one can reach the Archenkanzel by mountain bike, starts at the parking lot Wimbachbrücke ( 634 m, alternatively parking hammer handle ) and runs along a forest path. Here, too, is tangent to the Kührointhütte. A few dozen meters before the Archenkanzel there is a turnaround, from which also the cycling is no longer meaningful.

The most challenging ascent offers at St. Bartholomew's from. From there, the so-called Rinnkendlsteig leads exposed in places up ( sure-footedness and freedom required). This excellent views down are already possible during the ascent of the lake.
