Archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics
In the Summer Paralympics in Beijing in 2008 medals were awarded in 9 competitions in archery. The decisions were made between September 13th and September 15th, 2008 at the Olympic Green Archery range.
- 2.2.1 Compound (open)
- 2.2.2 Recurve (ST )
- 2.2.3 Recurve (W1 and W2)
- 2.2.4 Recurve (Team )
Classes
In the Paralympic archery competitions were divided into three classes:
- W1, for archers in a wheelchair with limited arm and leg function.
- W2, for archers in a wheelchair with limited arm or leg function.
- ST, for standing archers, whose leg functions are limited, but can still stand.
Results
It took a total of 136 athletes, some of which 88 male and 48 female, at the Paralympic archery competitions. In the four competitions of the women there was an open, ie all classes accessible, competition with a compound bow as well as two contests with the recurve bow, once for W1 and W2, and once for ST. In addition, there was an open team competition. For men, the same program was still added to the decision with the compound bow exclusively for W1- athletes.
