Archibald Low

Archibald Montgomery Low ( * 1888 in London, † September 13, 1956 in London ) was an English engineer. He was an inventor, author of more than 40 books and owner of over 100 patents.

Life

Low was the "father of radio control " because he made around 1917 pioneering work in the field of guided missiles ( bomb warhead, "Aerial Target" ), aircraft and torpedoes. He was a pioneer in many fields, but brought a few things to a conclusion. For contemporaries, he was unpopular because he loved the limelight and publicity and also because he carried the title of professor, without having an academic chair.

Archibald M. Low was also one of the pioneers of television in 1914 and in the early 1920s.

1976 Low was inducted into the International Space Hall of Fame in New Mexico.

Works

Low wrote many scientific books, including science fiction.
