Arena Skövde

The Arena Skövde is a multi-purpose hall in Skövde. It is the home ground of the Handball Teams IFK Skövde Skövde HK and HF.

The multi-purpose hall has three halls. The capacity of 2500 visitors spread over 1630 seats, 770 standing room and 100 seats in the VIP area. The Arena Skövde is one of Sweden's largest halls and was scheduled to host the Men's Handball World Championship for Men 2011.

History

1971 a swimming pool was built with a 25- meter track. In 1996, the arena was completely renovated.

In August 2007, an extension of the building was decided. The first phase involved the construction of spa facilities, fitness rooms, a water park and a bowling alley. Other plans provide for the construction of a convention center, a hotel and a parking garage.
