Arensch is a district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony. Until 1937 belonged Arensch - as well as Cuxhaven - the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Near Arensch various rocket experiments were carried out 1945-1964. Thus, the A4 rocket surgery started Backfire in October 1945 from a forest in Werner built between Arensch and Sahlenburg start site, of which some remnants bunker and a bottom trough are still left. From 1957 to 1964, the Hermann Oberth Society and some other experimenters started near the north-west of Arensch building yard and in the Wadden foreland numerous missiles with peak heights of up to 50 kilometers. More rocket experiments in which peak heights of up to 100 kilometers have been achieved, led the Berthold Seliger Research and Development Company by near Berensch.
