Argentina women's national football team
The Argentine national soccer team of women representing Argentina in international women's football. The national reports to the Argentinian Football Association and is coached by Jose Carlos Borrello.
The first unofficial games played Argentina in the second unofficial World Cup 1971 in Mexico. After a defeat against Italy in the match for 3rd place, Argentina finished the tournament in fourth place.
The Argentine selection took previously participated in two official World Championships, however, different in the two already in the first round again. In 2007, she lost the opening game with 00:11 against Germany, the highest ever suffered in a World Cup defeat. In the South America Championship they finished in the first three participations in second place behind Brazil. Only in 2006, succeeded the Argentineans, the first victory over their neighbors from Brazil and the associated winning the South American Championship. 2010, only 4th place was occupied, which Argentina failed to qualify for the World Cup in 2012 neither 2011 nor the Olympics.
The Argentine selection is available in sporting terms clearly in the shadow of men selection.
Currently, Argentina is in the FIFA World Ranking 34 previous best finish was 27 in June 2008 and from September to December 2009.
