Ari Guðmundsson

Ari Friðbjörn Guðmundsson ( born 14 September 1927 in Reykjavík, † September 6, 2003 ) was an Icelandic swimmers and jumpers.

Career

Ari Friðbjörn started as a member of Iceland's swim team at the Olympic Summer Games 1948 in London. About 100 meters and 400 meters freestyle he dropped out in the first round.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 he started as a ski jumper. With two jumps on 60 and 59 meters, he landed on the normal hill on the 35th place.

Ari Friðbjörn worked until retirement in Landsbanki. He died shortly before his 76th birthday, leaving behind his wife and four children.
