The Ariégeois is recognized by the FCI breed from France ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, Standard No. 20). Outside France, this breed is rarely kept.

Origin and History

The breed is also Ariégeois rabbit dog called, derived from his special field of application. Very similar is the Braque de l' Ariège, a pointer; it is often confused with the Ariégeois. Description

The dog is used for shotgun hunting and for par force hunt.
