Arif SaÄŸ

Arif SAG (* 1945 in Dalli, County Aşkale, Erzurum Province, Turkey) is a Turkish- Alevi singer and politician.

Life and work

Arif SAG made ​​early on his first musical steps as he discovered the Türkü ( traditional Turkish folk songs ) with three to four years. By the age of 14, he built his basic knowledge on to a Aşık (traditional singer who accompanied himself on the saz ) to be.

Between 1960 and 1970, began his professional career. His first record, " Gafil gezme Saskin bir gun ölürsün " was created in 1963. In 1965 he went to the radio station of Istanbul as Bağlamaspieler. In 1975 he got a job as a professor at the National Conservatory of Turkish music in Istanbul (Istanbul Devlet Türk Müziği Konservatuarı ), to leave it in 1982 and set up his own school, the " music house of Arif sag" ( Arif SAG müzik evi ).
