The Aris castle if Kien is the ruin of a medieval hilltop castle dating from the 12th century and is located in the Swiss municipality of Reichenbach in the canton of Bern.

Location and description

The castle is located on the slope of Kiene, a page of Bach's Kander.

The system is relatively well preserved. Parts of the castle tower, the neck ditches, earth walls and two ditches are visible. A third trench is no longer visible.

History

The castle was the ancestral castle of the Barons of Kien. The castle was abandoned in the late 13th century. 1934, the castle was restored.
