Arise, O Compatriots

Arise O compatriots, Nigeria 's Call Obey was founded in 1978 as the official national anthem of Nigeria and replaced the National Anthem Nigeria We Hail Thee from the year 1960.

The text was composed of the best entries to a general competition for a new national anthem. The music is by the current head of the Nigerian Police musical group Benedict elide Odiase.
