Career
In the club
Aristide Guarneri began his career at Como Calcio, from where he moved after a year to Inter Milan. In the Inter defender celebrated his greatest successes. He was in the years 1963, 1965 and 1966 Italian champion and 1964 and 1965 Italian Cup Winners' Cup. He also won the nerazurri the European Champions Cup in 1964 and 1965, and the Intercontinental Cup in 1964 and 1965. Guarneri was part of the team that was called La Grande Inter. In 1967 he moved to FC Bologna. Then came via the intermediate station Napoli 's return to Milan. After only one year at the San Siro he let his active club career finish at the U.S. Cremonese.
In the National Team
Guarneri made his debut in the Azzurri in 1963 against Brazil. His international career was marked by a great success. In his first World Cup in England in 1966, he still was eliminated in the group stage, however, the same team won two years later under Ferruccio Valcareggi the European title in their own country. After this item Guarneri ended his national team career.
