Arkady Raikin

Arkadi Isaakowitsch Raikin (Russian Аркадий Исаакович Райкин; * 11 Oktoberjul / October 24 1911greg in Riga, Russian Empire, .. † December 17, 1987 in Moscow, Soviet Union) was a Soviet mime, actor, director, satirist, comedian and theater director.

Life

Arkady Raikin studied at the Theatre Institute in Leningrad, in 1935 began his career as an actor and received a 1939 1st prize in Allunionswettbewerb. This year he was also artistic director of the miniature theater in Leningrad. He worked more than 25 productions, was in all socialist countries on tour and participated in international festivals in Berlin (1962 ) and at the opening show of the BBC Two television in London ( 1964) part. One of his most famous and successful productions was the trip around the world in 80 days by Jules Verne ( 1951). Except in the context of his theater work, he took part in directing his own films and wrote the screenplays.

Three years before his death he moved to Moscow and opened the Satirikon Theatre, which is continued by his son Konstantin Raikin there. Both he Arkadi Raikins daughter Yekaterina Raikina can be seen as an actor in films.

Performance

Arkady Raikin developed from different elements of the actors' theater, operetta and cabaret his own pantomime style that made ​​him internationally known.
