Armenians in Switzerland

Swiss Armenians are Swiss citizens of Armenian origin.

The exact number of Armenians is not precisely known, but it is officially estimated that 3,000 to 5,000 Armenians live in Switzerland.

The majority of Swiss Armenians are orthodox by the Armenian Apostolic Church belongs to and is under the jurisdiction of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin. It is the Saint Hagop Church in Troinex / Geneva, which is used mainly in the west of the country while Armenians perform in the east of the country worship in erner number of Swiss sister churches. There is also a smaller number of Armenian Catholics, belonging to the Armenian Catholic Church, and an even smaller number of Armenian Protestants.

  • AVZ - Armenian Club Zurich in Zurich established in 2005.
  • Union Arménienne de Suisse ( UAS) is currently the largest operating Armenian Association. Based in Geneva organized the " European Inter Community Tournament" in the city.

  • Association des Dames Arméniennes - Genève - In 1986, we published the bilingual Artzakank in French and Armenian.
  • Switzerland- Armenia Association " / Association Suisse - Arménie / Society Switzerland -Armenia, a major community organization for Armenians in Switzerland.
  • Centre Arménien de Genève " community center next to Saint Hagop.
