Armin Ganz

Walter Armin Ganz ( born March 26, 1948 in Knoxville (Tennessee ), † October 9, 1995 in Sausalito, California, United States) was an American art director.

Life

Quite studied at the University of Tennessee his home state of philosophy and architecture, and continued these studies at Washington University in St. Louis continued. Practical experience in the film industry gathered full in the 70s as a director of short films. 1981 Alan Parker signed him for his marital drama " you or not ," where the whole film architect Stu Campbell assisted. Armin whole remained in the aftermath of Parker's first page and cooperated in the preparation of Filmbauten to its subsequent productions Birdy ( again with Stu Campbell) and Angel Heart ( with Kristi Zea ). In between, he was also at the scene pictorial design of Roger Moore's last James Bond film participates in the face of death, where he ran the U.S. sequences.

From Ganz's later film architectures is especially noteworthy for the large-scale carmaker portrait Tucker: a performance that earned him an Oscar nomination. Armin Full died only 47 years old on his houseboat in Sausalito to a heart attack. At the time of his death he was currently in the preparation phase to the tragicomedy Jack. His work continued Mr Dean Tavoularis, with whom he had already worked with Tucker. Full itself is in this film in the opening credits even as an art ( set decorator ) out.
