Arne Andersson
Arne Andersson ( born October 27, 1917 in Trollhättan, Västergötland, † 1 April 2009) was a Swedish athlete who was successful on intermediate-range from the mid- 1930s to mid-1940s. He ran four world records.
Arne Andersson started for Örgryte IS, later for SoIK Hellas. By profession he was a teacher. In 1945 he was banned for life for violating the amateur section.

- Winning two national championships over 1500 m (1942 and 1943 in 3:50,4 in 3:49,6 min)
- In 1939 he became the first Swede, who ran the 1500 m at 3:50 min: On July 28, he improved the 5 year old national record by Eric Ny on 3:48,8 min
- On August 17, 1943 in Gothenburg, he expressed his record on 3:45,0 min and improved the previous world record of his compatriot Gunder Hägg to 8/10. He was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal - For this performance.
- In addition, Andersson ran three world records over 1 mile: 4:06,2 min on 10 July 1942 in Stockholm
- 4:02,6 min on 1 July 1943 in Gothenburg
- 4:01,6 minutes on July 18, 1943 in Malmö
