Arne Selmosson

Arne Bengt Selmosson ( born March 29, 1931 in Götene, † February 22, 2002 ) was a Swedish football player. He played on the position of a striker. His nickname was due to his blond hair Raggio di Luna.

Selmosson moved to the season in 1954/55 from Jonkoping to Serie A for Udinese Calcio, where he was at first team regular, and together with Lorenzo Bettini a dangerous strike partnership. With 14 goals, he played a major role, because Udinese played an excellent championship, just four points binned in second place behind AC Milan. As Udinese was zwangsrelegiert to Serie B at the end of the season, Selmosson left at the end of the season the Friuli towards Lazio. Here he continued to play at a high level and scored 31 hits, before joining local rivals AS Roma for the season 1959/60. After two seasons in the Giallorossi jersey he returned to Udinese Calcio. In the first season, Udinese got off to Serie B, Selmosson still held the Friulians loyalty. At the end of the season 1963/64, Selmosson ended his successful career. On 22 February 2002 Selmosson died in Götene, Sweden at the age of 70 years.
