Arnold Jung Lokomotivfabrik

The Arnold Jung Locomotive factory was a manufacturer of locomotives, especially of light railway locomotives, in Kirchen (Sieg).

The company as Jung & Staimer OHG on February 13, 1885 by Arnold Jung and Christian Staimer was founded. On 3 September 1885, the first locomotive was delivered. In 1913 it was renamed the Arnold Jung Locomotive Factory GmbH, Jungenthal. In 1976, the locomotive production in favor of other products such as machine tools, transfer cars, armor plates, cranes and bridge cantilever was abandoned.

Production ceased on 30 September 1993, closed the factory. However, the young Jungenthal GmbH persists as " boy Wehrtechnik GmbH". In the open area next to the locomotive factory today is a discount food store.

In total, more than 12,000 locomotives were manufactured - including 1959 of the 23 105, the last steam locomotive to the DB delivered new - plus a steam boiler be used for other sectors such as road rollers.
