Arnulf Schröder

Arnulf Schröder ( born June 13, 1903 in Munich, † December 22, 1960 ) was a German actor and director.

Life

After secondary school and dance training with Claire Bauroff and acting lessons with Carl Graumann he made his debut in 1920 at the Munich Chamber Play as Johnny in Spring Awakening. In 1921 he was engaged in Kaiserslautern.

Then he was obliged in Hanover and from 1925 to 1927 at the Schauspielhaus in Munich. From 1927 to 1930 he worked at the German theater active in Berlin and participated in 1929 in the founding of the cabaret The catacomb. In 1930 he returned to Munich, where he worked since 1932 as a theater director and since 1942 as senior director of the Bavarian State theaters. At the same time, he headed since 1935, he founded National drama school in Munich.

From 1933, Schröder became aware movie offers, but rarely came over cameo appearances beyond. From 1950 to 1954 he worked in Ankara, where he worked until 1953 as a professor at the National Conservatory was responsible for the training of actors in 1951 and acted to the Turkish State Theatres as chief director. After that, he directed and edited classic dramas and worked as a radio speaker for Bayerischer Rundfunk. Occasionally, he was also active as a voice actor.

Arnulf Schröder was buried at the North Cemetery in Munich.
