History

The arrondissement Bernay was founded in 1800 and in 1926 expanded to include the district Pont -Audemer. Effective on January 1, 2006 an administrative reform was carried out, with the Canton Amfreville- la -Campagne from arrondissement arrondissement Bernay Evreux moved to.
