Arrondissement of Mauriac
The Mauriac Arrondissement is an administrative district in the department of Cantal in the Auvergne region of France.
History
On 4 March 1790, established with the founding of the Cantal also a " district Mauriac ," which was already identical with the current district. From the district was the district Mauriac with the founding of the arrondissement on February 17, 1800.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north by the district Issoire in the Puy -de- Dôme, in the east by the district of Saint-Flour, to the south by the district Aurillac and to the west by the arrondissements of Tulle and Ussel in Correze Limousin region.

The district is subdivided into six cantons:

- Pleaux
- Riom- ès- Montagnes
- Saignes
- Salers
