Geography

Geographical Location

Arroyo is located on the Caribbean coast, east of Guayama and northwest of Patillas.

Boroughs

Arroyo extends across the five boroughs Ancones, Guásima, Palmas, pitahaya and Yaurel well as the city center Loíza Pueblo.

History

Arroyo was founded on 25 December 1855, derives its name from the small river, stopped at the weary travelers in the past, to drink and rest.

Policy

Coat of Arms, Flag and Anthem

In the upper blue field a church between a rosary and a flower to be seen. A tower rises between two silver telegraph poles over the green hills. Under the blue and silver waves swims a fish. There is a crown with three towers that are filled with purple Above the shield. On a banner emblazoned the motto Arroyo Pueblo Grato ( Arroyo, the appealing city).

The flag comprises two horizontal bands of the same size. The colors orange and black are reminiscent of a past full of adventures and achievements. In the center of the coat of arms is shown.

Arroyo, Arroyo pueblo grato sol de Dios, entre tus tus sale palmeras riberas dan al Mar Caribe soy de Arroyo, cuna que me vio nacer. Riachuelo que de las aguas del Río surgio Yaurel que fuera de tu incitador fundación classy. Pitahaya cual región nuestro Indio comenzó a explotar ya cultivar nuestras tierras antes de Colón. Grandes y fueron son nuestras personas Samuel Morse e Isabelino Cora, Max Sanchez, Don Jesús María, Don Cristóbal Sánchez y Don Jose de Choudens. Structures

The most important buildings are the monuments for Enrique Huyke and Samuel Morse, the Hacienda La Cora, the Old Tower, the windmill and the ruins of the Lighthouse Punta de las Figuras.

Natural Monuments

Arroyo can stroll on the beaches of Las Palmas and Punta Guilarte.
