Arthur A. Collins

Arthur Andrew Collins ( born September 9, 1909 in Kingfisher (Oklahoma ), † 25 February 1987 in Dallas ) was an American entrepreneur.

He founded in 1933 in Cedar Rapids ( Iowa), the Collins Radio Company (now Rockwell Collins ) established that radio- technical equipment for professional use and amateur radio operators. An early innovation was the permeabililtätsgesteuerte oscillator ( PTO) in which a core is mechanically moved in the interior of a coil, and thus defines the resonant frequency of the resonant circuit.
