Arthur S. Moreau, Jr.

Arthur S. Moreau, Jr. ( born June 3, 1931 in Mount Rainier, Maryland, † December 8, 1986 in Naples ) was an admiral in the U.S. Navy and last until his death Commander of United States Naval Forces Europe ( NAVEUR ) and at the same time Commander -in- Chief Allied Forces Southern Europe ( CINCSOUTH ) of NATO.

Life

After schooling Moreau began his training at the U.S. Naval Academy and joined the U.S. Navy after the end of 1953.

During his military career, he served as commander of U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay in the Philippines and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, before he finally from May 1983 to October 1985 Assistant of General John W. Vessey Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had.
