Arthur (TV series)

Arthur and his friends is a Canadian- American animated television series that is broadcast on the American broadcaster PBS since 1996. The production began in 1994. In Germany it has been running since 2003 on the transmitter KI.KA. The series is based on the eponymous book by Marc Brown.

Action

The series revolves around the adventures of a young aardvark Arthur that he experiences with his family and his friends in Elwood ( Elwood City in the original ). Many consequences playing with Arthur at home or at school. The series deals with a wide range of topics in everyday life today.

Characters

Arthur

Arthur is an aardvark, and the title character of the series. He wears glasses, a yellow sweater and blue jeans. Arthur is usually in a good mood and ready to make new experiences. He is also the owner of a dog.

Dora - Wilma

Dora - Wilma (original Dora Winifred or simply DW) is Arthur's little sister. She is four years old. Dora - Wilma knows how to tease her big brother. She has an imaginary friend named Nadine.

Boris

Boris (original Buster Baxter ) is a rabbit and Arthur's best friend. Boris's hobbies are watching TV, reading (especially science fiction ) and video games. His parents are divorced. To the hare turns a spin-off series called Postcards from Buster.

Binky

Binky is a bulldog and one of Arthur's classmates. He looks awesome on his classmates because of its appearance, but is actually a sensitive boy. Binky is interested in classical music and ballet. How many children does Binky afraid of the dark.

Franziska

Franziska (original Francine Frensky ) Arthurs is best friend. Often she behaves more like a boy than a girl. Franziska and her family are Jewish and Polish descent.

Season 1 to Season 3 have been fully aired in Ki.Ka. Likewise Season 8 Season 9 Of all the episodes up to the 5th episode ( episode # 120 ) were shown. Only sequence No. 2 was shown ( episode # 127 ) From Season 10. For the seasons 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11, no German dubbed version is available, as all ideas ( 5 so far ) and all but the aforementioned episode of Season 10

Music

The theme song is sung by Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.

Movies

There are three films to the series, which are long in each case one hour. The third, Arthur 's Missing Pal, is computer - animated.
