Artur Ostrowski

Artur Ostrowski ( born September 29, 1968 in Piotrków ) is a Polish politician and since 2005 member of the Sejm in the V. and VI. Legislature.

Life

In 1988, he earned a degree at the Electronic pilot, after which he studied until 1994 at the Warsaw University education. He is also a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. From 1994 to 2003 he worked as a primary school teacher in Piotrków Tribunalski. Later he was Vizewoiwode the Łódź Voivodeship.

In the parliamentary elections to the Sejm in 2005 he was first on the list of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) elected with 7,043 votes for the constituency Piotrków for Members of the Sejm. In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was with 13,112 votes on the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ) once again elected to the Sejm. He is a member of the Sejm commissions for state control, as well as education, science and youth.

Since 22 April 2008 he is a member of the newly formed group Lewica.
