Arturo Álvarez (footballer)

Arturo Álvarez Perea ( born November 18, 1959 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican football player at the position of the defender.

Life

Association

Álvarez was during his 16 -year professional career always in the Puebla FC under contract. As one of the few players he had the extraordinary good fortune to have been actively involved in the only two league titles in its club history (1983 and 1990). In 1990 he won with Puebla also the Mexican Cup competition and therefore inevitably the Supercup. Presumably, he also belonged to the squad of the team, the 1991 CONCACAF Champions ' Cup won.

Only between 1987 and 1989 and in the 1992/93 season he played on loan for the capital clubs Cruz Azul and América.

National

Álvarez came in three games for the Mexican national team for use: on February 6, 1985 against Switzerland (1:2), on 14 February 1989 against Poland ( 3-1 ) and on February 23, 1989 against El Salvador ( 2:0 ), he played his only game for the full distance of 90 minutes.
