Arturo Torres Carrasco

Arturo Torres Carrasco ( born October 20, 1906 in Coronel, Chile, † April 20, 1987 in Santiago de Chile, Chile ) was a Chilean football player and coach.

The famed for its art midfielder Arturo " Carecacho " Torres, who is described as an intelligent guide players, began his career in the provincial associations Unión de Maestranza Lirquen and The Comercial de Talcahuano. In 1928 he joined Everton de Viña del Mar, but moved later that year to further CSD Colo -Colo in the capital Santiago de Chile, where he remained until 1932, 1929 and 1930 respectively, the League Central de Football de Santiago won.

Still in 1928 he took part in the Olympic Games in 1928 with Chile. In the first Football World Cup 1930, he was a regular player of the trained from Hungary György Orth team that defeated Mexico and France, but still did not come on the first round out after a defeat against Argentina. Also at the South American Championship 1935, he took part.

In 1932 he moved on to Audax Italiano where he went from January to October 1933 on the three- America tour, a journey through North, Central and South America. Of the completed during the tour 68 games won Audax 48 and only suffered nine defeats. With the dawn of professionalism in Chile, he moved to the end of 1933 CD Magallanes, another capital club, with whom he as player-coach won the first three championships of the new league until 1935 and it remained undefeated in 1934.

From 1936 to 1937 he held the same position again at Colo -Colo, where in 1937 the club undefeated led to his first league title before Magallanes. His debut in this stage of his association membership, in which he completed 19 Official matches, he celebrated on May 24, 1936 against Unión Española. Overall, he was Colo- Colo in four Amamteurspielzeiten and two professional rounds. In 1944 he was in the first round, as the successor of Ferenc Plattkó, coach of the team Colo -Colo, which won the now fourth championship in club history in that year. After a good start of the season presented with the newly formed team a series of failures, and he was replaced by Luis Tirado.
