Artyom Vaszjunyin

Artyom Vaszjunyin (Hungarian Vaszjunyin Artyom, Ukrainian Артем Васюнін / Artem Wasjunin; born January 26, 1984 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Hungarian- Ukrainian Hockey player standing since 2011 at Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák in the MOL League under contract.

Career

Artyom Vaszjunyin began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Alba Volán Székesfehérvár, for the first team, he was active in the Hungarian Hockey League from 2000 to 2002. He then played a game each time for their league rivals Ferencvárosi TC and Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros, where he was in season 2003/ 04 with Dunaferr runner-up, and Cup Winners' Cup. Then the native Ukrainians returned to Alba Volán Székesfehérvár, for in the Austrian Hockey League he was in the next seven years in the Hungarian Hockey League and from 2007 in parallel to the ice. With Alba Volánbusz he was Hungarian Champion in each case in all its seven seasons.

For the 2011/12 season Vaszjunyin returned to his former club Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák from the MOL League.

Internationally

For Hungary Vaszjunyin took part in the junior level at the U20 Junior B World Cup 2004. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the A World Championship in 2009.

Family

Artyom Vaszjunyins father is a former Soviet ice hockey player Oleg Wasjunin, who was a defender for the HK Sokol Kiev in use in the 1980s. Oleg Wasjunin emigrated with his family to Hungary, where he ended his active career.
