Arwa Damon

Arwa Damon (* in Boston, Massachusetts, United States) is an American journalist. Since 2006 she has worked for CNN since 2010 and directs the CNN office in Beirut as a correspondent and reported from Lebanon and the Arab region.

Life

Damon is used by CNN as an expert on reports from Iraq.

In 2011 she reported on the protests in the Arab world, especially from the Egyptian revolution and the civil war in Libya. Prior to joining CNN, she worked for three years as a freelancer for various news organizations in the Middle East region.

She studied French and Biology and a minor in International Relations. After the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, she decided on a career planning away from their main subjects.

She grew up in Morocco and Turkey, and speaks English, Arabic, French and Turkish.
