History

The Fotbal Club Municipal Targu Mures ( German Town Football Club Târgu Mureş ) was founded in 2008 as the successor of third division club Trans -Sil Targu Mures. After a failed merger with Forex Braşov in June 2008, the club instead bought the place from Unirea Sânnicolau Mare in the League II He is financially supported by the City of Targu Mures and to the tradition of AS Armata Tirgu Mures Targu Mures and CS tie, both of which no longer exist, but have played for years in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A.

In its first year of existence, the club missed under coach Cosmin Bodea barely move up to the League 1 In the following year Bodea was released after 27 match day, when the climb seemed vulnerable in the League 1. He was succeeded by Tibor Selymes of his contract had already dissolve again after four games on 2 November 2011. On 3 November 2011, the Italian Maurizio Trombetta was appointed coach of the club, but already on 20 January 2012, came to separate, after the club's management had refused to meet financial demands additional Trombettas. As the successor to Marius Lăcătuş was presented on 21 January 2012. After three games without a win in the second half of the 2011/12 season Lăcătuş was dismissed again on March 18, 2012, and replaced by returning Ioan Sabău. At the end of the season the club was relegated lying in 15th place.
