Ã…sa Torstensson

Åsa -Britt Maria Torstensson ( born March 25, 1958) is a Swedish politician. She is a member of the Centre Party and sits as a Member of the Swedish Parliament. From October 2006 to October 2010 she was Minister of Infrastructure in the government of Prime Minister Reinfeldt.

Torstensson studied social work at the University in Östersund. Subsequently, she worked at various hospitals and as a school trustee.

As a 15 - year-old she joined the youth wing of the Centre Party. In 1994 she was elected as an alderman in Strömstad, a post she took over from her father Torsten Torstensson. In 1998 she came to the Reichstag. After the Civil Alliance for Sweden won the general election in 2006, was Åsa Torstensson Infrastructure Minister in the Ministry of Economy.
