Ásgeir Trausti

Ásgeir (* 1992 in Laugarbakki, also Ásgeir Trausti, full name Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson ) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter.

Ásgeir is the son of the Icelandic poet Einar Einarsson George, who wrote most of the songs for Ásgeir.

In 2012, he led the song Hvítir SKOR, which he shared with Blaz Roca, produced, 9 weeks on the Icelandic charts. His debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn was the best-selling debut album Islands. Approximately 10% of Icelanders have this album. The songs of the debut album by John Grant have been transferred into English and published in 2013 under the album title in the Silence.

Awards

2012 Ásgeir won in several categories at the Icelandic Music Awards: Best Album of the Year ( for Dýrð í dauðaþögn ), Best Newcomer (pop, rock and blues ), Public Choice Award, Icelandicmusic.com 's Online Achievement Award.

In 2012 he won with Dýrð í dauðaþögn the Kraumur Awards.

He was also awarded the 2014 European Border Breakers Award for Iceland.
