Ashbury Heights

Ashbury Heights is a Swedish synthpop band of Anders Hagström with changing singers.

History

Originally, the duo of Anders Hagström and Yasmine Uhlin. She announced her surprising exit from the band in Hamburg at the last concert of the Out Of Line Festival Tour 2008. Anders and Yasmine first met in November 2005 and formed a band after they discovered that they shared the same musical ideas. John Fryer mixed their first album " Three Cheers for the Newlydeads " from. After it was published in October 2007, the CD received great praise from the press and the audience.

2008 Ashbury Heights reported back with the EP " Morningstar In A Black Car", which contains five new songs and four remixes. The EP received good reviews and made sure that the interest remained in the band. There was a video for the track " Spiders " rotated, a low-budget project. Ashbury Heights, now with the new singer Kari Berg, published on 2 July 2010 their second album "Take Cair Paramour ".

On October 11, 2010 Anders Hagström was on MySpace the breakup of the band known. Nevertheless, the project seems weiterzuexistieren. Anders announced on September 24, 2011 via Twitter a Convention for comeback a day later that you 'll be looking for a new singer and 5 January 2012 that he had ten new pieces finished, but no studio think. Early 2013 announced the official Facebook page of the band, that all problems had been overcome and Anders with Jenny working on new pieces.

Style

The style of the band moves between fast electro sounds with dance elements paired and quiet ballads. Sonically, the band often reminiscent of synth-pop bands like Depeche Mode, Camouflage or mesh.

On the second album "Take Cair Paramour " also isolated rock guitars are used such as in the song "Anti Ordinary ".
