Ashern (Manitoba)

Ashern is a small community in Manitoba, Canada. The village is located about 160 kilometers north of Winnipeg on Highway 6 and on Manitobasee. Furthermore, the PR 325 performs Ashern. About 3 km south of the town is the " Ashern Airport".

Ashern was founded in 1918 after the railroad workers A. S. Hern named. Today Ashern is inundated with tourists, it has three swimming beaches at the Manitobasee and with the surrounding lakes ( Manitobasee, Dog Lake and Lake St. Martin) on good fishing and fish possibilities and opportunities for all kinds of water sports. In addition to tourism Ashern is considered the economic center of the surrounding communities.

Every year on Labor Day will be held the Annual Ashern Rodeo and the Ashern Horse Show.

Ashern has the " Lakeshore General Hospital" own hospital.

The actor Adam Beach was born here.
