Ashley Tappin

Ashley Tappin ( born December 18, 1974 in Marietta, Georgia) is a former American swimmer and triple Olympic champion.

At the age of 13 years, 1988 was the youngest swimmer who participated in U.S. preliminaries. They eventually reached number 50 In the 1990 World Cup they could win a gold medal at the Pan American Games in 1991 even three.

1992 at the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona they swam 100m freestyle for the U.S. swimming team in the lead with 4 × and eventually won her the gold medal.

In the season 1996/97 she gave her resignation after an injury. However, they soon returned again. During her time off, she began a successful modeling career. She was offered a role on Baywatch, but she refused.

At the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000, she swam again two heats with the U.S. swimming team and reached two more Olympic medals than 4 × 100 m freestyle and 4 × 100 m medley.

Today Tappin 's swimming and diving coach at the University of New Orleans.
