Ashur-nirari I

Ashur nirari I. ( Aschschur - nirari ) was an Assyrian king, the son of Ischme - Dagan II and successor of Samsi -Adad III. He reigned 26 years. His name seems to be also listed in the synchronistic king list, but received only incomplete.

Ashur nerāri took over the construction of the temples of Ashur again, among other things, he renewed the covered with lead plates Torhof the Ashur temple ( Kisal abqāri ), builds the Bel ibria a new temple and the Moon and the Sun God together sanctuary dedicated.

Title

He bore the title of Viceroy of Ashur ( išši'ak Ashur ).

He was an approximate contemporary of Kassitenherrschers Agum II, who built the temple of Marduk of Babylon again.
