Erddrossel ( Zoothera Dauma )

The Erddrosseln ( Zoothera ) are a genus of medium-sized, mostly insectivorous or omnivorous songbirds of the thrush family. The genus is distributed mainly in Asia and Australasia. Most species are ground-nesting birds and seek their food on the floor. The African forms, the collar choke and the Aztecs throttle the new world as well as the slate throttle ( Zoothera sibirica ), which are traditionally assigned to this genus are not closely related to the Asian species of the genus Zoothera and partly form their own genres such Ixoreus ( collar choke) and Ridgwayia ( Aztecs throttle ).
