Assaf Gavron

Assaf Gavron ( born December 21, 1968) is an Israeli musician and author.

Life

Assaf Gavron grew up as a child of English immigrants in the vicinity of Jerusalem and held on while studying and after ten years in London, he also studied for a year in Vancouver. He now lives with his family in Tel Aviv.

He has published several novels and short stories and is a bestselling author in Israel. He writes songs for the indie punk band Hape Ve Hatlafajim, in which he sings. Gavron was involved in 2007 in the development of the video game Peacemaker, which deals with the Middle East conflict and its playful target is the two- state solution. Gavron has, inter alia, Jonathan Safran Foer, Philip Roth, and J. D. Salinger translated into Hebrew. He also writes for the Habima Theatre.

In 2010 he was a guest of the DAAD Berlin Artists Programme and among the participants of the International Literature Festival Berlin. In 2012, his novel was presented CrocAttack in Action A Guide for the city in the metropolitan area of ​​Cologne, the novel received in France the "Prix Courrier International " magazine Courrier International. Gavron 2011 received a prize from the Israeli Prime Minister and the Geffen Award. For his novel In a Strange Land, he was awarded the Bernstein Prize, the second most important literary prize in Israel.
