Assembly of the Republic (Northern Cyprus)
The Parliament of the Republic ( Turkish: Cumhuriyet Meclisi ) is the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, based in Lefkoşa. It consists of 50 seats. Sibel Siber is the President of Parliament.
The Parliament of the Republic of cage, one is elected by universal, equal, secret, direct and free election by proportional representation for a 5- year term. There is elective. The voting age is 18 years. If a seat in parliament becomes free (eg death of a Member, etc.), mid-term elections are held; one year before regular elections no interim election will be held. The deputies are elected from five electoral districts Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, Girne, Güzelyurt and İskele.
History
On 23 June 1985, the first general election was held. The deputies were sworn in on July 8, 1985.
Oath
