Astatoreochromis is a genus of the family of cichlids ( Cichlidae ) that is found in eastern Africa in the catchment of Victoria and Lake Tanganyika. Pellegrin chose the name because in his opinion the type ( Astatoreochromis alluaudi ), which he described, stood between Astatotilapia and Oreochromis ).

Features
