Asterix & Obelix XXL

Asterix & Obelix XXL is action-adventure computer game that was developed by French developer étranges Libellules and published by the American publisher Atari. The game was released in November 2003 for PlayStation 2 and in July 2004 for Windows, GameCube, Game Boy Advance.

The sequel to Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 Mission Las Vegum was published in October 2005 for PlayStation 2 and Windows. In November 2006, the game for the PlayStation and the Nintendo DS was released under the title Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 Mission Wifix.

Gameplay

The game is played in the prosecutor perspective. The player mainly controls Asterix and Obelix can also control in some passages. Idefix is not taxable. The levels are shown in cartoon graphics and very spacious and large, but they are constructed rather linear. As ingame currency count the Roman helmets that you get either when done Romans or if you smash crates. Sometimes they simply lie on the ground. Can be stored at Druids pots.

Action

The action takes place in the year 50 BC. Almost the whole of Gaul is occupied by the Romans. Asterix, Obelix and Idefix are on their way to rescue their friends who have fallen into the hands of the Romans.

The scenes from the comics were taken over in the game. So decides to move the three heroes in Normandy, in Switzerland, Greece, Egypt and Rome. Also the Gallic village was recreated.

In its mission, the three are not all on his own, because Caesar's former spymaster HCL ( Acidix Hydrochloridrix ) helps the three, by giving at some points in the game crucial evidence. At the end of each section, it is to destroy a Roman fighting machine, this is stronger each time when Asterix & Obelix take on it.

Action

Several druids are gone, and the puzzle solution seems to lie with Getafix, stupid, only that it is guarded by the Romans. The two friends, the clever Asterix and the " full-figured " Obelix, are on their way to Caesar's latest project, the theme park Las Vegum. There they learn of one of the kidnapped druid, Getafix that they have betrayed. But is this really true? The two penetrate deeper into the dangerous park with real challenges in and have to fight giant, climb the Eiffel Tower, various locations from Las Vegas to cross (Luxor, Venetia, Caesar Palace ), carry the day in different arenas, shoot down flying Romans, a false traverse Gallic village and learn in a tricky situation that Getafix has betrayed anyone, but that a Roman named Larry Craft ( see Lara Croft ) himself off as Getafix and that the real Getafix captured at Caesar Palace is held under the strictest guard you can not even imagine. But first they have yet to even fight pirates, targets throw me Romans and fight an army of cloned Caesar. And meanwhile, Caesar ordered his troops to take the Gallic village. In the end, however, he sees his obsession and takes a messenger using the " Internetus " to forward the message that they should leave troops Armorica. The adventure ends with a feast under the Gallic night sky.
