The Atchafalaya Swamp Bridge ( officially: Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge ), also Atchafalaya Swamp Freeway, are two parallel plate reinforced concrete bridges in the United States, which lead to Interstate 10 between Baton Rouge and Lafayette in Louisiana over the Atchafalaya Basin. With a length of 29.3 km, it is one of the twenty longest bridges in the world.

The two bridges are parallel plate in about fifty yards distance, only at the crossing of the Whiskey Bay Pilot Channel and the Atchafalaya River, the bridges run directly next to each other. They are used daily by nearly 25,000 vehicles. The building has two connection points: the port 127 Whisky Bay in Iberville Parish and the terminal 121 Butte La Rose in St. Martin Parish.

To reduce the number of accidents at the bridge, the speed limit in the recent years has been lowered several times. Today, a maximum speed of 60 mph for cars and 55 mph for vehicles, truck tractors, which are allowed to use only the right lane is true.

A picnic area and visitor center is located at mile 121 approximately in the middle of the bridge, where there is also a monument to the airborne troops 82nd Airborne Division. The bridge was renamed on 10 July 1989 in honor of the airborne troops in Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge. (: Long bridge German ) and Basin Bridge or by the nickname Almost Home Bridge ( German: Almost -to- home - Bridge ) For the local population, the bridge also under the name Longbridge is known.
