Atheist Centre

The Atheist Centre (English Atheist Centre ) is an institution in India, which was founded by Ramachandra Rao and Saraswathi Gora Goparaju ( 1912-2006 ) to initiate social change in rural Andhra Pradesh, and is based on the worldviews Gandhism and atheism. The foundation was in 1940 in the village in the district Mudnur Krishna in Andhra Pradesh instead. 1947 moved to the center to Vijayawada.

The center is a member of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations, and therefore supports the Amsterdam Declaration of 2002.

The institution got the 1986 International Humanist Award from the International Humanist and Ethical Union.
