Athenodoros Cordylion

Athenodoros Kordylion (Greek Αθηνόδωρος Κορδυλίων Athenodoros Kordylíōn; * in the first half of the 1st century BC in Tarsus ) was a Greek philosopher and follower of the Stoics. As guardians of the library of Pergamum is known about Athenodoros that he removed some passages that pleased him not from books. He became famous especially by the Roman politician Cato the Younger, who studied BC 67 or 66 with him in Pergamon. Athenodoros Kordylion followed Cato to Rome, where he lived in the house until his death.
