Athens News

The Athens News was an English weekly newspaper in Athens. It was founded by Giannis Horn and belonged to the Lambrakis Foundation. Currently, it has ceased publication.

History

1952 founded Giannis horn the Athens News as a daily newspaper. She appeared daily except Mondays. During the military dictatorship was the Athens News, the only newspaper that could work reasonably free, not least with the help of various embassies. She was the first newspaper in Greece, which published an online edition. On 21 March 2001 was converted to a weekly intervals, the proven since then.

Since mid- November 2012, the newspaper is no longer published, the online edition is no longer updated

Layout

The layout of the newspaper has been awarded a design award and was characterized by a very functionalist design. For the headings of the Univers 67 was used as the text font Times.
