History
The Atlantic Coast Hockey League was named after an eponymous league that existed from 1981 to 1987 and merged with the All- American Hockey League 1988 ECHL. The first and only champion of the ACHL were the Orlando Seals of Florida. After that, the team withdrew from her and founded two new leagues:
- South East Hockey League ( SEHL )
- World Hockey Association 2 ( WHA2 )
These two leagues managed however to endure only the 2003/04 season. Some teams from both leagues founded on the Southern Professional Hockey League ( SPHL ).
