Atlético San Luis

Atlético San Luis is a Mexican football club from San Luis Potosi, the state capital of the same name.

History

After playing in the first division San Luis FC decreed due to unsatisfactory results in recent years no longer have the necessary support of the sponsors, the state government and the audience, his license was sold on 20 May 2013 following Chiapas where the major league football to receive. For prior to the license of the Jaguares de Chiapas on the sporting relegated Gallos Blancos de Queretaro had gone over to this club to avoid relegation.

On 27 May 2013 were confirmed by the league that the team of Tiburones Rojos Veracruz was transferred to San Luis Potosí, to allow the city a starting spot in the second division. There the team in the Apertura 2013 will start under the name Atlético San Luis.

Under the same name played in the 1998/99 season before División a team in the third-tier Segunda, which was launched by the fourth division in the Tercera División gambling club Santos del San Luis.

Due to the opaque layer is currently not unequivocally determined whether there is between the former Atlético and now in the second division club starting any context or whether the founder of the new organization have only taken over the former name.
